The value for money was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient, with easy access to the beach, train station, and restaurants. The staff were friendly and attentive.

During my Christmas stay, I loved the proximity to the train station, bus stop and beach, which was very convenient. The modern bathrooms were also impressive, and the roof top terrace offered a great view. I appreciated the opportunity to use a private beach which was located nearby.

The breakfast included rice and curry which was not suitable for everyone, especially those with a western taste. , the safety deposit of 1000 rupees per person was an inconvenience especially on the last night when one wants to get rid of their remaining money.

We had an amazing stay with excellent hotel facilities and helpful staff. Cleanliness was top-notch and the location close to the local train station and ocean made transportation a breeze. Breakfast was good and we loved the rooftop area for chilling and working.

My recent stay at Island Hostels Mount Lavinia was absolutely fantastic! The hostel is newly opened, so everything is brand new and in great condition. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and they speak excellent English. The capsule style beds were comfortable and provided privacy. The location is perfect, as it is close to the station, bus, and beach. The hostel also has a pool and offers a great breakfast. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hostel.

Staying at a hostel next to the train station is so convenient, especially when arriving from the airport. The location is perfect to explore Colombo's surroundings and enjoy a quiet suburb. The rooms are comfy with clean and air-conditioned facilities as well as secured charging ports. The staff is so friendly, and the breakfasts are awesome when wanting to get a taste of Sri Lankan local dishes. The rooftop view is excellent for hanging out and catching up with friends while working and enjoying the strong Wi-Fi.

The hostel has some noise issues, which can be uncomfortable at times.

We recently had a really enjoyable stay in this hostel. the rooftop area was fantastic, offering a view of the city skyline and a refreshing swimming pool to relax in. We particularly enjoyed the evening party with local food which added a special touch to our stay. the staff members were all very friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere.

the bathroom heater didn't function properly, which was a shame.

Despite that, the hostel has a great location, with a nice restaurant nearby for an enjoyable evening. the rooms are clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. the hostel's close proximity to the Mt Lavinia train station is also convenient for exploring the area.

The hostel does not provide filtered drinking water, which is a downside for environmentally conscious travelers who prefer to avoid single-use plastic bottles.
